Next time I’m at Goodwill I’ll have to keep a sharper eye out because they had a lot of VCRs there and a CD-i could blend in pretty well if I were just taking a cursory glance. Went there the other day and I certainly scoured as much as I could through their bins of old cords for cables or controllers and made sure I didn’t miss any consoles.
waits for a game where amy rose is the protagonist
waits for a game where princess peach is the protagonist where they don’t mock and make fun of her for her emotions
waits for a game where female characters aren’t marginalized…
i definitely meant mainstream games/series, and dixie kong was very awesome in DK country but she wasn’t the main protagonist. i appreciate your input, though. i love your blog and appreciate your “women in video games” tag.
what about the metroid games? although I’m not really familiar with them yet because they’re cost-prohibitive for me, Samus is very important. also, while I’ll agree to disagree about DKC2 (even though the game is basically impossible without her), she is the main character of DKC3. even better that they brought her back for DK Tropical Freeze.
